Terms & Conditions

updated 23 June 2023

This document explains the terms and conditions for collecting and selling scrap or waste plastic through the PlastX program, using the PlastX App.

Consent: By accessing and/or using the PlastX App, you agree to these terms of use. Please read these Terms carefully and immediately cease using the PlastX App if you do not agree to them.

About Registering:

  • The PlastX web app is free to use, and there is no registration fee.

  • Registrants must have their own mobile phone, with internet access (the PlastX app is a web App), and an email address – which will be the Collector’s username for the app .

  • Registrants must upload a clear, recent photograph, which will be used for identification purposes when dropping plastic off for payment at a Hub.

  • In registering to become a PlastX Collector, you declare that you are 18 years of age, or older.

About Selecting and Committing to Jobs:

  • Available jobs are listed on the PlastX App. Each job specifies exactly what is required, by plastic type, colour and condition. This is the ONLY material that will be accepted in relation to that job. You can find information regarding all job specifications on the Collect.PlastX.co website here. There is additional information regarding different plastic types here.

  • The price indicated on the App is the price that will be paid per kilo, for the specified material in the correct condition. The price is not negotiable.

  • When you commit to collecting a quantity of material, that is the quantity that must be delivered to the Hub, by the due date shown on the App. You may choose to drop off portions of your commitment (1 kilo, minimum) for verification and payment any time up to, and including the due date.

  • If you are unable to deliver a quantity of plastic that you have committed to, you must let PlastX know, by adjusting the total (or cancelling the job) in the PlastX App. You may also increase the quantity of your commitment in the App.

About Selecting and Committing to Jobs:

  • PlastX adheres to a strict policy that prohibits children from participating. Any adult found to be using underage collectors will have their accounts deleted, and no payment will be made. They will be banned from any further participation in any PlastX program at any PlastX HUB.

  • Where a job specifies post-consumer, the material collected must have been discarded by an end-consumer. Post-consumer material does NOT include manufacturing waste or scraps.

  • It is the Collector’s responsibility to fully understand the type and condition of plastic required for your job.

  • Always check the job specifications before starting to collect.

  • When you are ready to deliver a collection (or a portion of your collection) to the Hub, you are required to log a Quality Control check on the App, confirming that you have collected the correct material, and are delivering to the correct Hub.

About Delivering to the Hub:

  • Collected plastic may only be delivered to the Hub or Hubs indicated on the App for that particular job. It will not be accepted elsewhere.

  • The MINIMUM accepted delivery for any job is 1 kilogram of material.

  • Collected plastic must be personally delivered to the Hub by the registered Collector whose image and details appear on the App.

  • For security purposes, and to expedite payment, Collectors must have their cell phones with them at the time of delivery to the Hub.

  • After confirming the ID of the Collector, a member of the Hub team will conduct a thorough check to ensure that the collection is correct by type, colour and condition; that there is no contamination, and no foreign bodies are included. The verified collection will then be weighed, and the Collector paid immediately.

  • Wherever possible, payments will be made electronically.

  • The Hub is responsible for ensuring that all collections comply fully with the job specifications. The Hub Manager’s decision to verify a collection is final.
