Any collection that does not comply with these job specifications may be rejected, and payment withheld.

DEFINITIONS

Post Consumer means material which has been discarded by an end consumer. Post Consumer material does NOT include manufacturing scraps or waste.

PET means Polyethylene Terephthalate - a polymer frequently used for water and soda bottles.

Look for the International Resin Code 1:

PET is the ONLY type of plastic accepted in this job. All other polymers are specifically excluded.

COLOUR & CONDITION

  • Clear or Coloured Post-Consumer PET water or soda bottles

  • Plastic must not be degraded from extended exposure to the elements

  • Plastic must be clean and dry

  • Labels and lids do NOT need to be removed

COLLECTIONS WILL BE REJECTED IF

  • Plastic other than PET is detected

  • Plastic is not post-consumer material

  • There is a large degree of contamination or degradation

  • There is a high degree of moisture

  • Post-Consumer items

  • Correct plastic (PET)

  • Clear or mixed colour

  • Good condition (undegraded)

ACCEPTABLE for Job #35
UNACCEPTABLE for Job #35

  • Incorrect resins (e.g. HDPE/ LDPE)

  • Poor condition/ degraded

  • Contains Contaminants
