PVC (aka VINYL)
The International Resin Code for PVC is
PVC is a highly durable, weather-resistant plastic. It's used extensively in the building and construction industries, and for indoor & outdoor plumbing.
PVC does not conduct electricity, so it's extremely useful for electrical cabling.
And, because PVC is resistant to chemicals & impermeable to germs, it is widely used in medical applications.
Strong & durable
May be rigid, OR flexible
Naturally white, but may be coloured
Often called 'Vinyl'
PVC is used for
Drainage & water pipes
Cable & wiring insulation
